Arsenal star striker Gabriel Jesus is set to be sidelined for a few weeks after suffering a knee injury.
With the new season just 8 days away, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has received some negative news, with key striker, Jesus set to miss the start of the new season.
The 26-year-old was left out of the team for Arsenal's Emirates Cup victory over Monaco on Wednesday, and after the game, Arteta admitted the injury was a big blow.
Arteta reveals Gabriel Jesus injury status
“Unfortunately he had a little procedure this morning,” Arteta said.
“He had some discomfort in his knee that has been causing some issues and he had to go and resolve it. It’s not something major but he is going to be out for a few weeks I think.”
“It’s a big blow because we had him back to his best, especially the way he played against Barcelona (in a pre-season victory last month). He was in good condition and we lost him but he’s been feeling some discomfort in the last few weeks and we had to make a decision."
