Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reveals details of his conversation with Guardiola after the former Bayern and Barcelona boss beat him to the Premier League title.
Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions for the third consecutive season, this time at Arsenal's expense. Still, the Gunners' manager, Mikel Arteta, revealed that he called Guardiola to congratulate him.
The North London club led the league table for a huge chunk of the season but lost it to a nigh-perfect Manchester City in the final run-in.
Arteta has a relationship with Guardiola, having served as his assistant manager previously. The heat of competition did not seem to melt their ties, as the Spaniard in charge of the crushed Arsenal side called his friend to salute him.
What Arteta said to Pep
In a conversation with Sky Sports, the manager of the Emirates Stadium occupants revealed that he called his former boss to applaud him and his staff, as he believes winning the Premier League is no small feat and should not be taken for granted.
