Arua Hill SC forward Innocent Media has run to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Dispute and Resolution Chamber to release him from the West Nile-based club.
In a letter dated July 4, Media accuses Arua Hill of coercing him to sign a new contract and also rejecting to release him to pursue greener pastures following an offer from Italian lower division club Lucera Calcio.
While Arua Hill maintains that Media is their player, the forward says his contract with the club expired in 2022 and he did not renew.
“I am writing to seek my release from my former club because I had a contract with them from 2020 to 2022,” part of the letter reads.
“After the expiry of my contract, the club management tried to talk to me to renew the contract but I refused, the coach offered me Shs5,000,000 (Five million shillings) via mobile money but I resent the money back,” the letter added.

TRANSFERS Arua Hill deny selling Innocent Media to Italian Club
Arua Hill CEO Pius Bamwange has denied selling their budding prospect, Innocent Media, to Italian club Lucera Calcio.
Media also accuses the club of threatening him after deciding to move on with his career following a meeting with his family and management.
“I have an opportunity to further my education and sports and as I sat with my family and management, we decided that this is the best option for me.”
“Unfortunately Arua Hill management is threatening me and my family that I cannot pursue my career because I have a contract with them and cannot go anywhere or take any opportunity for my education and sports career,” he stated.
