West Nile powerhouse Arua Hill SC could lose three of their most important players, after they ran out their contracts at the end of the preceding 2022/23 campaign.

Skipper Rashid Toha, wing-back Geriga Atendele and star Gadafi Wahab are currently free agents and could exit Barifa, should the Leopards fail to act with swiftness.

"It's true (their contracts ran out)," confirmed Arua Hill CEO Pius Bamwange on a brief call with Pulse Sports Uganda.

"It's something we are working on and negotiations are ongoing at the moment," Bamwange added.

Toha, who joined 'Kongolo' from Vipers SC, has featured 43 times for Arua Hill in the league, chipping in with six goals.

Last season in the league, he played on 22 occasions, netting five times, a decent return for a central defender.

Meanwhile Atendele, who joined from Wakiso Giants FC, has also been a key figure for Arua Hill, playing 41 times in the league across two seasons.

However, last campaign was injury-laden and it limited him to just 16 appearances out of a possible 28.

On the other hand, Wahab has been just as integral since Arua Hill joined the topflight in the 2021/22 season.

He has gone on to rack 43 league appearances, including 20 for last season, where he also scored five goals. Overall in the league, he managed nine goals over two campaigns.

The club will want to retain their core ahead of the 2022/23 season, where they are expected to be more competitive than before.

Last season, they finished a decent fourth in the league, having accumulated 44 points, behind the third-placed SC Villa, runners-up KCCA FC and champions Vipers.
