Ashleigh Plumptre, Asisat Oshoala missing as 25 Super Falcons invited for Algeria friendly games

The Super Falcons of Nigeria return to the pitch with 25 players against Algeria but are missing big names such as Plumptre and Oshoala.

The nine-time African champion Super Falcons are scheduled to play their Algerian counterparts in two international friendly matches in Lagos at the end of this month.

Head coach Justine Madugu has invited 23 players, including goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

The matches are scheduled for Saturday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 29, respectively, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Lagos Island.

The Falcons are participating in international friendlies on home turf for the first time since the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament three years ago.

The list has some key players in good form such as Gift Monday of Costa Tenerife and Oluwatosin Demehin of Galatasaray.

However, Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala and Al-Ittihad defender Ashleigh Plumptre recently back from surgery are missing

The list includes domestic professionals and a few Falconets who competed in the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Colombia last month.

This will be the Super Falcons' first fixtures since the summer Women's Olympic Football Tournament in France and after American trainer Randy Waldrum left the team.
