Super Falcons and Barca Femeni star Asisat Oshoala has opened up on her goals for the new season and her plan to keep setting records.
Asisat Oshoala is one of Nigeria's greatest-ever women's football players and she has risen from strength to strength throughout her illustrious career.
She is the first African woman to win the UEFA Champions League, doing so in 2021 with her club side Barcelona.
Oshoala holds several personal accolades. The 28-year-old is the only footballer to win the African Women's Footballer of the Year on five different occasions.
She is also the only African woman to score in a UEFA Champions League final and also the first African (and Nigerian) to score at three different FIFA Women's World Cups.
Oshoala on creating new records
Oshoala, speaking in an interview with the MTN Super Falcons Radio Show, has revealed she will not rest on her laurels as she hopes to create even more records.
"Becoming the highest African scorer at the Women's World Cup is something I am really excited about.
"I am just enjoying myself, doing what I love to do, and trying to make a statement out there.
"I love to create my own records and it is a bit difficult because there have been a lot of amazing players before me who have set records that are difficult to surpass, but I am just trying to create my own story"
