Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena is over the moon, understandably so, after he penned a new four-year contract extension with the South African giants, as Pulse Sports had reported earlier.
The club confirmed the development on Tuesday evening through a brief video announcement shared on their official Twitter handle in which Sundowns chairman Tlhopie Motsepe revealed the long-awaited news.
"Wolla Masandawana, this is your chairman speaking, and today I have some fascinating news that I want to share with you all," part of his message revealed.
"Our head coach Rulani Mokwena has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the football club. And what this means is, we will have four more years of success, hard work and dedication and joy, trophies and wonderful memories with the yellow nation."
For Rulani Mokwena, it was a sign of appreciation and love from the club, adding that he felt the urge to remain as club head coach to help Masandawana win more trophies.
"You know you are loved, appreciated and wanted, I look into the eyes of my players every single day, and I think there is still more to be done," he noted.
"It's because of that feeling that I felt the need to be able to put myself at service for this incredible institution once more and try to help it achieve more and win more trophies."

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has extended his stay with the South African giants.
The 36-year-old tactician also appreciated the fans' support and pledged to take responsibility as the club leader.
"The love and the warmth that I also receive from the supporters as a servant of this football club," he noted.
"I have grown to love this club; I now have to prove my love and loyalty for this club in the big responsibility of leading the club in this moment where I feel privileged."
Mokwena, who guided Masandawana to a sixth straight league title with seven games to spare, will have the main target of winning a second CAF Champions League title for the side.
