Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman suffered heartbreak as his Atalanta BC side was beaten 1-0 by Juventus in the Coppa Italia final in Rome.
The Nigeria international went agonizingly close to forcing extra time when he struck the post late on in the explosive encounter played at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

Lookman heartbreak vs Juventus
Despite playing from start to finish, it was Dusan Vlahovic's first-half solo strike that proved the difference as Juventus lifted the Coppa Italia for a record 15th time.
It was a cruel blow for Lookman and Atalanta, who produced a fantastic second-half display in an end-to-end cup final.

Vlahovic thought he had doubled Juve's lead in the second half only for his second goal to be ruled out by VAR, while Fabio Miretti also struck the woodwork for the Old Lady.
But ultimately it was Vlahovic's moment of magic in the first period that decided an enthralling contest in the Italian capital.
For 26-year-old Nigerian star, Lookman, he has enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists to help fire Atalanta to a fifth-placed finish in Serie A and UEL final.
Despite the Juve defeat, Lookman and his teammates will have another shot at silverware when Atalanta battle Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the Europa League later this month.

But this agonising Coppa Italia final loss, and his late chance to take it to extra time, will certainly leave Lookman rueing what might have been.
