The Nigerian superstar is seen as untransferrable by Atalanta in the winter transfer window
Ademola Lookman, has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe, leading Atalanta to reportedly set a hefty €50 million price tag on the Nigerian international as interest from top clubs continues to mount.
Lookman attracting top clubs with stellar form
Lookman’s form this season has been nothing short of extraordinary. With eight goals and five assists in 14 appearances across all competitions, the 27-year-old forward has been pivotal to Atalanta's impressive start to the season.
Having played a key role in the club’s Europa League triumph last season, where he scored a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen, Lookman’s stock has soared since then.
His exceptional performances also saw him finish 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, while he remains the favourite to clinch the CAF African Player of the Year award.
Atalanta reluctant to sell star man
Despite significant interest from European heavyweights, including Paris Saint-Germain, Atalanta are in no rush to part ways with their talisman.
The Italian club is also financially stable and has no immediate need to sell, and with his current contract running until at least June 2026, Atalanta will wait until the summer transfer window to entertain serious offers, with reports suggesting they will demand no less than €50 million for their prized asset.
Although PSG approached Lookman during the summer, Atalanta successfully convinced him to stay amidst PSG’s pussyfooting; however, with the January transfer window fast approaching, clubs eyeing the CAF POTY favourite will need to match Atalanta’s valuation to stand a chance of signing the Nigerian superstar.
