Young Africans assistant coach Cedric Kaze has re-echoed the importance of Sunday's Azam Sports Federation Cup semifinal game against Singida Big Stars.

The squad, having just returned from Rustenburg South Africa where they reached their maiden CAF Confederations Cup final after a 4-1 aggregate win over Marumo Gallants.

They immediately left for Singida without Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho and first-choice goalkeeper Djigui Diarra due to knocks.

However, Kaze has stressed that despite the absence of the two key players, the game remains equally important, and the available players are ready to give it everything.

“This is equally a big game in our quest to win a treble, and we shall give it everything to advance to the final,” Kaze said.

“Aucho and Diarra picked up knocks and will miss the game on Sunday, we shall miss them, but we have other players who will be available to help us win,” he added.

Young Africans has met Singida Bright Stars twice this season in the league, winning on both occasions, including the 2-0 win in the last meeting two weeks ago.

With the league wrapped up, Nabi Nasreddine’s charges are also hoping to defend the domestic cup, which they won last season after beating Coastal Union in post-match penalties.
