Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho is a respected figure in the Young Africans dressing room, at least after the club’s latest development.
As Young Africans ready themselves for their CAF Confederation Cup final return leg against USM Algers, the club’s travelling squad named includes Aucho despite his suspension that ruled him out of both games.
Aucho is regarded as one of the team leaders in the club’s dressing room, and the decision is entire to motivate the rest of the players even more with Nabi Nasreddine’s charges on the back foot having lost the first leg.
‘Tiimu ya Wanainchi’ lost 2-1 in Dar-es-Salaam last weekend; the game picked up mostly in the second half, with USM Algers taking the lead in the first half through Aymen Mahious.
In-form forward Fiston Mayele then levelled the score in the 82nd minute, but the visitors retook the lead just two minutes later through Islam Merili.
Mayele will be expected to have his scoring boots on the day; the ‘vibrator’ is the leading top scorer in the competition with seven goals.
Having scored six away goals en route to the final, Nabi Nasreddine’s charges will be hoping that they take advantage of their away form to stop USM Algers.

CAF CC Nasreddine is counting on Young Africans' away goals scoring form to overturn CAF CC's final result
The Tunisian tactician watched as his charges conceded a goal in the first half but fought back to level the tie before they went on the back foot again in the game's final stages.
Young Africans will now have to avoid conceding in Algiers but score at least thrice to win their first inter-club title and also become the first club in East Africa to achieve the feat.
The final will take place on 3rd June at the June 5th stadium in Algeria.
