The 'Tiimu ya Wananchi' side experienced a 2-1 setback against IHEFU in their midweek game – their first loss this season.

Young Africans are setting their sights on a return to their winning form as they prepare to face Geita Gold in Mwanza on Saturday.

The 'Tiimu ya Wananchi' side experienced a 2-1 setback against IHEFU in their midweek game – their first loss this season.

However, head coach Miguel Angel Gamondi believes lessons have been drawn from that match, and he is optimistic about making amends this Saturday.

"It was a difficult loss to accept, but that's the nature of football. IHEFU's time-wasting tactics certainly didn't help, but we have to persevere," he shared with Azam TV.

"We are determined to clinch a win on Saturday, and I urge the fans to come out and support the team; their backing is invaluable."

Uganda Cranes' assistant captain, Khalid Aucho, was among the tactical changes Coach Gamondi made during the midweek match.

Although Aucho entered the fray in the latter stages, he couldn't steer the team away from defeat.

His fellow countryman, Gift Fred, has also travelled to Mwanza, where he continues to learn from seasoned players like captain Bakari Mwenyoto and Dickson Job.

In related news, Simba turned their fortunes around with a 3-1 victory over Tanzania Prisons, propelling them to the top of the league with 12 points.

A triumph for Young Africans in their upcoming match would elevate them to 12 points, on par with Simba, though the former would still have a game advantage.
