Gor Mahia midfielder remains cautious about league title chances despite team's strong performance and unbeaten run in FKF Premier League.

After securing yet another win against Tusker FC, Gor Mahia's midfield maestro Austin Odhiambo has revealed that having a majority of the squad from last season still intact will hand them an advantage in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title race.

The match, which saw K'Ogalo triumph for the 12th time in 19 outings this season, ended in a narrow victory, courtesy of Odhiambo's impeccable free-kick in the initial half.

This crucial win not only fortified Gor Mahia's unbeaten streak but also solidified their pole position in the league with a commendable tally of 43 points.

The contest, held at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, was nothing short of gripping, with both teams showcasing their hunger for victory.

However, it was Odhiambo's moment of brilliance that made the difference, earning Gor Mahia the coveted three points.

Despite the continuous successes and their current standing at the top of the league table, the skilled midfielder remains cautiously optimistic about their title prospects.

In a post-match interaction with the press, Odhiambo articulated his views on the ongoing season and the team's mindset.

"We are approaching every game with utmost seriousness. Prepared to manage the pressure, our team, having many of us as champions from the last season, is well-equipped. Numerous games remain until the league concludes, so it's far from over," he said.

Gor Mahia, the reigning champions, are not strangers to success, having clinched the title last season.

With ambitions of retaining the crown, the team is fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead.

The journey to their 21st league title is still fraught with obstacles, including 15 more matches before the season draws to a close.

The team's next encounter, set against Kenya Police FC on February 3rd at the Nyayo National Stadium, is anticipated to be a critical fixture in their campaign.
