The Cherries hosted fellow newly promoted side Nottingham Forest at their Vitality Stadium in a bid to pull themselves out of the relegation places. A first-half strike took them into the lead, which they held until late in the game before Forest forced the result to a draw.
Nottingham Forest thought they took the lead in the game in the 14th minute when Ryan Yates’ glancing header guided the ball into the back of the net, but VAR cut their celebrations short due to offside in the build-up to the goal.
The ruled-out goal came as a wake-up call for Bournemouth, who got themselves in the game. New signing Dango Ouattara found Jaidon Anthony on the edge of the penalty area, who in turn struck the ball beautifully into the top left corner to put Bournemouth in front.
The home side led until the 83rd minute of the game, but the maximum three points on offer would not be theirs, as Brennan Johnson's cutback found Sam Surridge in front of the goal, who easily tapped it into the net.

Awoniyi and Dennis missing in action for Forest
The Tricky Trees' Nigerian duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis did not feature in the draw against Bournemouth.
Awoniyi picked up a groin injury in Forest's game against Southampton and is expected to be out until March.
On the other hand, Emmanuel Dennis was not in the matchday squad, as he is increasingly linked with a move out of the club.

The Ouagadougou-born winger started against Forest in the right-midfield position of a 4-4-2, and he featured for the full duration of the game.
The winger immediately endeared himself to his new fans, as he created the first goal that put Bournemouth ahead in the 28th minute of the game.
Ouattara was a constant threat in the game, attempting five shots in the game, and also put in a defensive shift as is required of wide forwards in a 4-4-2. He made two clearances, blocked two shots, and made a tackle and an interception.
