The 25-year-old midfielder has signed for money bags Azam FC on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, all thanks to President Hassan Suluhu Hassan, who called for dialogue between Young Africans and the player to solve the impasse.
What could be termed one of the most protracted legal transfer battles in Tanzanian club football history is finally over, with Feisal Salum keeping his word about not returning to Young Africans.
The 25-year-old midfielder has signed for money bags Azam FC on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, all thanks to President Hassan Suluhu Hassan, who called for dialogue between Young Africans and the player to solve the impasse.
Fei Toto was on hand to appreciate the head of state's support in solving the legal battle during his unveiling at the Azam FC offices in Dar-es-Salaam on Thursday afternoon.
"I really want to thank H.E., the President, for making this happen, and to Young Africans and all my fans, I love you all." Fei Toto stated after putting pen to paper.
The protracted transfer saga started in December 2022 when Feisal Salum intimated to Young Africans that he wanted to join Azam FC. Still, his proposition was turned down by the Young African management.
The matter was taken to the Tanzanian Football Federation. Still, it had been resolved six months on when the head of state, Samia Suluhu Hassan, urged both parties to sit down and resolve the matter.
"It doesn't make me happy to hear that a club is in conflict with a player; this is not good at all."
"To the management, let me request you to end your misunderstandings with Feisal; it doesn't make sense for a big club of your status to conflict with such a young player," the President said.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan hosted the Young Africans squad to dinner in appreciation for reaching the final of the CAF Confederation Cup at State House in Dar-es-Salaam on Tuesday night.
'Fei Toto' will now be tasked to help the Chamazi-based side to claim a second league title, with Azam having last won the league in the 2013/14 season.
Azam's domestic cup final against Fei Toto's former club Young Africans, on 12th June in Tanga, comes a bit early for their new signing as the midfielder is ineligible to play.
