Azam FC has established conditions for Prince Dube's departure, requiring adherence to contract terms or negotiation for the Zimbabwean striker's exit.

Tanzania Premier League side Azam has thrown a significant curveball in the path of Zimbabwe international Prince Dube who has expressed his desire to part ways with the club.

In a recent turn of events, the club laid out its conditions for the wantaway striker, making it clear that any departure would come at a cost.

This development follows the receipt of a contract termination request from Dube, signaling potential upheaval in the team's roster.

"Azam confirms receiving a contract termination letter from Dube requesting that he wants to leave after joining the club in 2020," revealed Azam FC's Head of Information and Communication, Thabiti Zakaria.

The Ice Cream makers' response has been to impose a hefty price tag on the player, who has been with them since moving from Highlanders in 2020 on an initial two-year deal, which he later extended through 2026.

Dube's tenure at Azam has been notable, making him a key figure in the Dar es Salaam-based outfit.

His contract, signed before the start of this season, underscores the club's valuation of his abilities, but also their willingness to negotiate his departure under specific terms.

Zakaria laid out the options for Dube's exit: "If he wants to leave, the first option is to pay $300,000 (Ksh 42million). The second option is to inform the club if there is a suitor, who should come and start talks with Azam. The third option for him is to stay until the end of his contract."

The striker's future destination remains a subject of speculation, with reports suggesting interest from Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca.

Dube, known for his exceptional ball control and knack for scoring crucial goals, has left a significant mark both at club level and on the international stage.

His journey through professional football has been a rollercoaster, from being named the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Rookie of the Year in 2016 to facing challenges in securing regular playtime during stints with SuperSport United and Black Leopards in South Africa.

Despite these challenges, Dube's return to form was celebrated in Zimbabwe, where he was named the 2019 Soccer Star of the Year second runner-up.

His contributions to the national team have also been noteworthy, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances since his debut against Zambia in 2017.
