The former Prime Minister has been taped going through his paces in a gym while donning  a Gor Mahia training kit.

Gor Mahia patron Raila Odinga has appeared to send a message to Kenya Police ahead of their crunch encounter at the Police Sacco Stadium this Saturday.

Police are set to host Gor Mahia in the sixth’ Sirkal Derby of the 2020s as they seek to finish the season as high as possible, while Gor Mahia want to maintain their healthy 10-point lead on second-placed City Stars , as well as maintain their unbeaten momentum.

Odinga, who is the current opposition leader, has been taped going through his paces in a gym while donning  a Gor Mahia training kit.

A political veteran, the patron’s video suggests that Gor Mahia will be keen to show the Law Enforcers that they are the real ‘Sirkal’.

Meanwhile, coach Johnathan McKinstry has expressed his satisfaction with the team's current standing in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League but affirmed their commitment to surpassing previous successes.

As the reigning champions, k’Ogalo holds the top spot in the 18-team table with 43 points from 19 matches, boasting a 10-point lead over second-placed Nairobi City Stars. Posta Rangers holds the third position with 32 points, while Tusker is fourth with 31.

In addition to leading the table, Gor Mahia stands as the only unbeaten side in the top flight, securing 12 wins, seven draws, and zero defeats.

The Northern Irish tactician who guided the team to their record 20th league title last season, believes the Green Army has had a strong first half of the campaign and is optimistic about an even better performance in the coming matches.

“We are having a good first half of the season, and you saw recently six of our players were named in the FKF Premier League team of the first leg; it means we are leading, and my promise to the fans is that it is going to get even better,” stated McKinstry.

Reflecting on the previous season where Gor Mahia clinched the championship with 70 points, McKinstry expressed the team's ambition to improve upon that result.

“We will continue pushing to ensure the second half of the season not only win our matches but exceeds what has gone before,” he affirmed.

Despite the loss of Ugandan midfielder Roger Mugisha to Danish Division One outfit AC Horsens, Gor Mahia has actively participated in the transfer market.

They secured the services of midfielder Shariff Musa from Bidco United, a player who was also a target for AFC Leopards and Bandari FC. Musa, with experience at Soy United and Kariobangi Sharks, adds depth to Gor Mahia's midfield.

As the team prepares for the remainder of the season, McKinstry remains focused on maintaining their unbeaten status and achieving even greater success in the FKF Premier League.
