The Brazilian has had a troubled start to his tenure at St. Mary’s Stadium, failing to win any of his six games since taking charge of the club in February.
Vipers SC boss Beto Bianchi admits that the club’s current dismal run raises pressure on his shoulders, but insists that ‘he is not scared, and sleeps with a clean conscious’.
The Brazilian has had a troubled start to his tenure at St. Mary’s Stadium, failing to win any of his six games since taking charge of the club in February.
The Venoms have suffered two crushing, high-profile defeats under Bianchi. They were thumped 5-0 by Raja Casablanca, before falling 1-0 to Simba SC at home on Saturday.
There is growing unrest within the club’s supporters with some of them making their discontent known following their goalless draw to Wakiso Giants on Wednesday last week.
The club’s hierarchy has remained silent about their recent struggles, which has raised tension about how long Bianchi has until he is shown the exit.
“There's always that question, especially when you are faced with a situation like the one we are in,” Bianchi told Pulse Sports, adding; “I accept it. It is part of the job.”
“I will tell you in life, I don’t worry over what I cannot control. With the experience I have, you learn to expect some of these things.”
“My job is not to worry too much about that. I just try to focus on the team, keep supporting the players because I really like these players.”
“I cannot blame any player. As a coach, you always take the blame when things are not going well. That is the way it is in every part of the world. But my mind is still at peace,” Bianchi explained.
"I understand the question, but I have to keep focusing on the team and helping the players. I need to focus on what I can control, which is the next day and the next training session.”
The Venoms have also accumulated 540 minutes without scoring in all competitions since Bianchi took over in January.
Vipers has scored just eight goals in their last 12 games in all competitions. They have also scored more than one goal on just five occasions in 19 games since the start of the season.
In contrast, they failed to score more than once on eight occasions in 30 league games and failed to score in only three games throughout last season.
Vipers is bottom of their CAF Champions League Group C with only one point, they travel to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania to face Simba SC on March 8.
