The talented Juventus midfielder is set to make a return for the Old Lady after his ban was commuted
After serving a betting ban that was decided on October 17, 2023, Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli is set to return to action on May 20 in the penultimate weekend of the Serie A season against Bologna.
Fagioli’s offence and punishment
The talented youngster voluntarily reported himself to authorities upon realising he was grappling with a gambling addiction, seeking assistance to address the issue.
Fagioli's proactive approach led to a 12-month ban, which was later reduced to seven months due to his commitment to undergoing treatment for his addiction. The ban, which officially started on October 19, 2023, will conclude on May 19, allowing the youngster to return to competitive football.
Fagioli’s return date confirmed
The scheduling of Serie A Week 37 fixtures has confirmed Juventus's clash against Bologna on May 20, providing coach Max Allegri with the opportunity to include Fagioli in the squad for the first time in seven months.
Despite his absence from official matches, Fagioli has remained active in training alongside his Juventus teammates. During his ban, Fagioli actively engaged in training sessions and also participated in discussions aimed at educating young players about the perils of gambling addiction.
