Reigning LaLiga champions Barcelona could make a shock move for one of Napoli's prized possessions next summer
LaLiga giants Barcelona will attempt to break up the dynamic duo of Napoli, who led the Partenopei to their first league title in 57 years.
Barcelona chasing new forward
Barcelona, like Napoli, won the domestic league title in the 2022/23 season after seeing off a challenge from Real Madrid, but the club’s hierarchy still believe that the team could do with another high-quality forward.
Following the departure of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint Germain and Abde Ezzalzouli, Barcelona lacks a certain profile of wingers, with the current players at the club not renowned for their dribbling or creativity from the wings on a consistent basis.
The Blaugrana will now reportedly turn their attention to Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, despite the forward's relatively high asking price.
Blaugrana eye expensive move for Napoli forward
Napoli already stated that only a bid above €100 million will be considered for the Georgian forward’s sale, leaving Barcelona with a mountain to climb if they want to sign the impressive forward, who is a known Real Madrid fan.
Kvaratskhelia was named Serie A MVP for the 2022/23 season after scoring 12 goals and assisting 10 more as Napoli cruised to the Scudetto for that campaign.
The Georgian midfielder’s impressive campaign last season has seen his reputation skyrocket, with a number of teams interested in taking him out of Napoles, but given Barcelona’s current financial standing, a move for Kvaratskhelia next season will be incredibly hard to complete.
