Luis Suarez played for Barcelona between 1955 and 1961 before starring for Serie A giants Inter for nine years, becoming a legend there as well.
The future Inter and Spanish national team coach made his name playing for the Blaugrana, becoming the first and so far only Spain-born player to win the Ballon d’Or in 1960 after leading Barcelona to a second consecutive LaLiga title as well as the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in the 1959/60 season.
In a Twitter post, Barcelona paid tribute to Suarez, an icon of the game, listing his achievements with the club and were joined in doing so by rivals Real Madrid.

Inter, who played host to Suarez’ talents for the longest time, also paid their respects to the Spaniard, who wore the Nerazzurri from 1961 to 1970.
Suarez became the first Spanish player to play in the Serie A after joining Inter for a world-record transfer fee from Barcelona and went on to help the Nerazzurri claim their first-ever European Cups in 1964 and 1965, as well as three Scudetto titles between 1963 and 1966.
Inter, as well as city rivals, AC Milan have also paid their tributes to the iconic Spaniard, saying goodbye to the legend on Twitter.
