Lionel Messi's future is still a topic of debate as the Argentine superstar mulls over his next move.
Barcelona have spent the last few weeks thinking of a way to get around FFP restrictions as they seek to bring Lionel Messi back to Camp Nou.
The 35-year-old is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after turning down the chance to sign a new deal with the club.
Messi to Barcelona via MLS?
According to L'Equipe, Barca are considering a plan which would see Beckham-owned Inter Miami sign the star before loaning him to Spain.
The move would then see Messi spend either 6 or 18 months in Barcelona to remain at a high level ahead of the Copa America in 2024, before moving to the MLS.
More on Messi's Barcelona return
Meanwhile, Barca boss Xavi has made no secret of his desire to have Messi back at the club.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, Xavi said:
"No doubt Messi can still help us a lot. I have made it clear to the president. He still has many years ahead of him"
Barcelona will continue to try and explore as many options as possible as they seek a way back for Messi but they must be cautious as the offer from the Saudi Pro League remains on the table.
