Bendel Insurance have continued to fly high in the NPFL, winning two of their two games in the 2023 season.
The Benin Arsenal on Thursday survived a scare at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium by visiting, responding to a late equalizer from the penalty spot, to score a 90+4th minute winner.
After having scored the clubs' goals in their first game of the season, Ismael Sarki and Imade Osarenkhoe both got their names on the scoresheet for Bendel Insurance again, helping their team to all three points and a return to the summit of Group A.
Bendel Insurance always fighting to the end
Reacting to securing the late winner, Osarenkhoe: who had scored the first goal of the 2023 season, revealed that the idea of fighting until the end of a game had been engraved into their minds.
"We have always been told that no matter what, we should always play to the blast of the whistle," the former HiFL player said.
"When we know we had conceded a goal in the very dying minutes, we just had to pick ourselves by hoping that by the Grace of God. God answered our prayers and crowned it with success. We are very very happy."

Reacting to if he had a target for goals in the 2023 season, he responded: "For now, no. Like I said before, I personally want to give in my best in every game I play to ensure my team comes out successful.
"If I score, I am very, very happy. If I don't play, I am very happy. But the major thing is that we need to win and then remain in this top-flight league. That's my main goal."
Bendel Insurance will next, turn their attention to Kwara United who they play at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.
