Kyle Walker praised Haaland's finishing ability but claimed that his Norwegian teammate is not the best finisher he has ever seen
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has heaped praise on Real Madrid icon Gareth Bale, claiming that the Welshman was a better finisher than Erling Haaland.
Despite playing a crucial role alongside Haaland in City's treble-winning campaign last season, Walker believes that Bale's finishing ability remains unmatched.
Bale's Legacy at Tottenham
Walker and Bale shared the field during their time at Tottenham Hotspur for four seasons before Bale's move to Real Madrid in 2013.
Bale's final campaign in England, specifically the 2012/13 season, saw him score 21 Premier League goals, leaving an indelible mark on the league and establishing himself as a Premier League icon.
Walker picks between Bale and Haaland
In a recent interview with the FIVE podcast, hosted by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, Walker expressed his admiration for Bale's incredible scoring form during the 2012/13 season.
Walker stated, "I have never played with a better player than Bale in 2012/13. I have played with scorers like Erling Haaland, but everything Bale hit that season and from anywhere, it was in the back of the net!"
Following his remarkable season at Tottenham, Bale continued his scoring prowess in Spain, netting 22 goals in all competitions during his debut season with Real Madrid in 2013/14. Despite playing alongside top-class scorers like Haaland, Walker's admiration for Bale's finishing skills speaks volumes about the lasting impact the Welsh forward had on his former teammates.
