Bianchi will face off against Robertinho for the first time since 2016 during their time in Angola when Vipers take on Simba in the CAF Champions League Group C at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday.
Beto Bianchi says he is looking ahead to a proper contest and re-union with Roberto Oliveira as he prepares to lead Vipers SC against Robertinho’s Simba SC.
Bianchi will face off against Robertinho for the first time since 2016 during their time in Angola when Vipers take on Simba in the CAF Champions League Group C at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday.
Bianchi replaced Roberto Oliveira at Vipers after the latter left Kitende to take over reigns at Simba in Tanzania.
The clash between the two East African giants promises to be thrilling and a classic, with Bianchi looking forward to testing his former foe.
“I am looking forward to my meeting with him again,” Bianchi said, adding; “He is such a great person and great coach. I have a lot of respect for him.”
“I have great respect for him, he is a good coach, a humble man and he has a lot of charisma, and cannot wait to play against his team.”
“I faced him in one of my previous assignments in Angola, and it’ll be a pleasure to meet him.”
“He has a good history at the club, and I expect the reception for him to be great, but overall I expect a good game from both teams.”
“We shall give our best for our fans, and I call them upon to come in numbers, back us and support us because the game is very important to us,” he continued.
With Bianchi still struggling to have an impact at Kitende, Robertinho is held in high regard at the club after winning the Uganda Cup and Uganda Premier League title in his 18 months at the club.
Vipers and Simba are struggling in their respective local divisions. Vipers are on a five-game winless run in all competitions, while Wekindu wa Mzimbazi is currently eight points behind league leaders Yanga.
The two come into the game occupying the bottom two spots in the group. Vipers is third in the group after collecting only one point from two games, while Simba has lost both its opening two games.
Saturday’s meeting provides great significance to either side in their chase to progress from the group.
