Bianchi’s Venoms have also looked fangless, failing to find the back of the net in all four games, and were ridiculously exposed in the 5-0 defeat to Raja Casablanca in the Champions League.

Beto Bianchi admits that there is still a lot of learning he has to do around his squad at Vipers SC, but that he has been left excited by the desire to adopt shown by his players since his arrival.

Bianchi has seen his tenure get to a troubled start as they have failed to win any of the four games that he has been in charge, and had to settle for a point against Horoya AC in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Vipers has also had to progress via penalties on two occasions in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, struggling to break down third division sides Bujumbura and Jinja North.

Bianchi’s Venoms have also looked fangless, failing to find the back of the net in all four games, and were ridiculously exposed in the 5-0 defeat to Raja Casablanca in the Champions League.

It is still early days, and it would be harsh to pass judgement this early into his tenure as he tries to bed in his philosophy in the middle of the season.

The Brazilian has had to chop and change in every match, making a total of 16 changes to his lineup, while he has utilized a total of 21 players.

Asked whether he fully understood the depth of his squad, Bianchi said; “We took this project in the middle of the season when the squad was already assembled.”

So, the situation is not easy given the number of games that we have to play. Without pre-season, there is a lot of time that you have missed working together, and understanding the different dynamics and potential of all the players.”

“The players were recruited with different profiles and fit into a profile of what a different coach wants. No, we are trying to improvise and learn everyone as quickly as we can.”

“We are trying to figure out our best starting eleven, and we want it to be the most competitive from the group for us to be able to compete in all the competitions available,” he explained.

“That is why we have been changing a lot in the games, because we have 32 players in the squad, and I feel all of them deserve a chance to help us fight for the titles.”

“But I am happy with them all, they are learning quite quickly and we are picking the information that we want and are understanding all of them more now.”

“We have to be patient with this process, but I am sure it will not e long till we arrive at where we want to be and start getting the goals and results,” Bianchi continued.

Vipers SC faces a tough task ahead in their CAF Champions League campaign as they currently sit third in Group C on just one point, three points behind second-placed Horoya AC.

Bianchi remains positive that his side can still progress from their Champions League, with the back-to-back games against Tanzania’s Simba SC crucial to their chances of progressing to the knockout stage of the tournament.

The Venoms will host the first match at the St. Mary's Stadium on February 25 before travelling to Dar-es-Salaam for the return leg on March 7.
