Bidco United trounced Muhoroni Youth at a goal-packed showdown in Kasarani as Talanta and Nzoia Sugar play to a stalemate at Ruaraka Stadium.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League action continued on Wednesday with mixed results in the two early afternoon matches.

Bidco United faced Muhoroni Youth at Kasarani Annex at 1pm and were in search of their third win of the season after holding defending champions Gor Mahia to a goalless draw last weekend.

On the other hand, Muhoroni aimed to maintain their momentum after two consecutive draws. Their coach Charles Odera sought their second win following a 1-1 result against Murang’a Seal in the previous match.

Bidco came with their guns and they went ahead early in the fifth minute of the match when Eric Michubu made a close range finish from an assist from Sharif Musa.

Muhoroni  had a chance to restore parity  following a defensive error by the hosts defence, but Collins Neto placed his effort wide.

However, the hosts deservedly  found their second goal in the 27th minute when Chris Opondo  pounced on Eric Michibu's back-pass to beat Ezekiel Owande and make it 2-0 for Bidco United.

Bidco continued to dictate terms after that and doubled their lead in the 37th minute when Thomas Wainaina broke through on goal, and beat the Muhoroni goalkeeper after he connected a pass from Martin Mbugua.

Muhoroni continued to play second fiddle after the  half-hour mark and were let off the hook after Kelvin Wesonga hoofed a low ball into the area from Erick Juma way over the top.

Charles Odero tried to get back into the game and came close to finding in the 44th minute when Maxwell Odada found space inside the box, but John Otieno produced a great save to deny him.

The first half ended with Bidco United leading 3-0.

Muhoroni started the second half much better and almost pulled a goal back in the 51st minute when Collins Neto got onto the end of a low cross, but his close-range effort struck the woodwork.

Stephen Burugu  almost pulled one back for Muhoroni in the 76th minute but the defender’s glancing header produced a fine save from John Otieno.

Desmond Ogofa almost increased his side’s lead in the 85th minute but the midfielder’s effort from the edge of the area flew inches wide of the right-hand post.

Muhoroni launched  attacks and did everything they could to pull one back, but they were frustrated by the Bidco defense which looked impenetrable.

Ultimately, Bidco emerged 3-0 winners over Muhoroni, who struggled to create clear-cut chances on a chilly afternoon.

At Ruaraka Stadium, Talanta enjoyed more possession in the opening stages of the match, but Nzoia Sugar looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

Agustine Kuta found some space outside the Sugar Millers box in the eighth minute and he forced goalkeeper Benson Mangala  into a comfortable low save.

Former Harambee Stars U20 goalkeeper also denied Alex Juma, who also tried his luck from range and Mangala made a comfortable save in the 12th minute.

Nzoia Sugar attacker Mohamed Barissa  was looking lively upfront and combined well with Aineah Ndete.

The former Silibwet marksman forced  Talanta goalkeeper Isaiah Waksatainto a good save in the 21st minute.

Nzoia then took control of the match - applying some pressure on Talanta defense with the halftime break fast approaching.

However, Talanta managed to contain Nzoia and the score 0-0 at the interval following a lively first-half.

Nzoia Sugar started the second brightly and they came very close to scoring 10 minutes after the restart.

Brian Omamo’’s header was pushed into  striker Harun Thomam' path by Khune following a great cross from Isaiah Wakasata.

Talanta forced Nzoia  into making errors at the back just before the hour-mark, with Pater Njamah going through on goal but Mangala came off his line quickly to avert danger.

Godfrey Oduor’s  men gained momentum and almost found the back of the net with 20 minutes left after Joseph Wafula cushioned a cross into the path of Ronack Otieno, who sent his volley well over the target.

That was as close to a goal as the match produced, even though Talanta continued to rain in shots in the final quarter of the match.
