The result leaves BUL with 28 points, four behind KCCA as Blacks Power open a three-point gap above the safety line.
Alex Isabirye was left soul searching after Blacks Power forced BUL FC to a disappointing one all draw at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Isabirye could not wait to reach the dressing room as he started his team summons immediately after the match ended.
Dickens Okwir opened the scores after fifteen minutes when he ran through to complete a well-executed counter-attack that snaked from keeper Emmanuel Odong through Ali Mukiibi.
The striker darted through, beat off his marker and fired low to the far right to catch Tom Ikara unaware.
BUL stepped up their tempo as they tried to push the visitors whose reserved approach to the game had started to expose.
The edible oil makers pushed bodies further with their efforts yielding fruits shortly after 30 minutes.
Douglas Muganga’s long pass split the Blacks Power defence to find Samuel Ssekamate who just controlled and looped the ball over the advancing Odong for his debut goal.
Moments later Pascal Ngobi saw his shot skew wide with the keeper well beaten.
Okwir almost restored the lead shortly after the break but Tom Ikara stood tall in BUL's goal. Okwir had dribbled through Aggrey Madoi before the powerful attempt.
Wandyaka effect
Isabirye was forced to adjust his plans by slotting Innocent Rwothmio and Richard Wandyaka for Martin Aprem and Ibrahim Mugulusi in the 56th minute.
The change almost yielded immediately. Wandyaka set Ngobi for a cross but Ssekamate's thumping header was acrobatically parried away by Odong.
Another one in succession saw Wandyaka find Ssekamate but again Odong pulled another classic save. Those saves earned the keeper the man of the match accolade.
The result leaves BUL with 28 points, four behind KCCA as Blacks Power open a three-point gap above the safety line.
