Okumu tore his adductor in midweek, and injury which "risks being long" according to Reims head coach Will Still.
Harambee Stars and Stade de Reims have been dealt a huge blow as key defender Joseph Okumu has been ruled out with an adductor injury that is expected to keep him out for an unspecified period of time.
Okumu had become a key cog of the club’s backline since signing from Belgian outfit Gent in the summer and had almost an 100 percent fitness record, with the Kenyan defender only missing out for a small part of November after sustaining an injury against PSG.
The Kakamega High School alumnus was left out of the side’s match against Le Havre, and head coach Still has now explained the exact reason why he was ruled out.

“We unfortunately lost Joseph Okumu who has a tear in the adductors so it is annoying,” Still told the club’s media channels.
Still cut a cautious figure as he expressed concern that the injury could keep Okumu out for a long period of time.
“It risks being long, we will see.”
Okumu appeared to sustain a knock during their match against Lorient a few weeks ago, and Still has revealed that there is a possibility it may have led to him suffering his latest one.
