The payer's contract expired, and the club is not ready to hand him a contract extension.
AFC Leopards defender Robert Mudenyu is set to leave after the expiration of his contract.
Mudenyu's contract is understood to have expired last Friday, and the club is not ready to tie him to a new deal. The centre-back was signed from Sony Sugar after the 2019 season, after an impressive season with the Awendo-based club.
At the Den, he struggled with a knee injury that at one time saw him miss over 10 matches for AFC Leopards, and that led to speculation he could have left the former Premier League champions.

TRANSFERS Sigh of relief! AFC Leopards finally register players
Owing to a transfer ban, Ingwe were previously not allowed to register new players.
However, he fought the injury and recovered, and the departure of Soter Kayumba saw him earn more regular starts than before. At one time, he had to face stiff competition from both Clyde Senaji and Collins Sichenje, but they too left, and this opened a new door for Mudenyu to re-enter the team and become a regular starter.
In the last two seasons, AFC Leopards were not allowed to sign new players because they were barred by FIFA after they had been reported by players over unsettled allowances.
This again gave Mudenyu room to maintain the starting slot, and given that the ban has been lifted, the AFC Leopards are set to sign and register new players for next season. This factor is understood to have contributed to the club's disinterest in him.

FKFPL: Dan Shikanda - "We will win the Premier League next season"
AFC Leopards last won the league title in 1998 and are coming from a forgettable 2022/2023 season.
Ingwe have already registered Ronald Sichenje, Nester Olum, Emmanuel Lwanga, Aboubakar Masha, Lauren James, and Victor Otieno, and given that Lwanga is a central defeder, it could mean Mudenyu's position has a new man.
