Kenya's U-20 women's team, the Rising Starlets, dominated FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifiers with a 10-1 aggregate victory over Angola.
In preparation for this pivotal encounter, Coach Beldine Odemba has summoned a provisional squad of 35 players, who will commence their training camp from Friday, November 3, 2023.
But it is not all smooth sailing for the Starlets as eight key players, including Captain Jane Hato, will be missing in action due to their KCSE exams.
“We’ll miss 8 players in this round as they will sit for their KCSE exams, including our Captain Jane Hato. While their absence does pose a challenge, it’s an opportunity for eight new talents to shine,” she said.
‘This new blood will hopefully integrate seamlessly with the team, and we’ll have a fresh face stepping into the captain’s role. We’ll work hard to overcome this hurdle in the upcoming round and hopefully, in the next round, we will emerge with a stronger, more resilient team.”
