Uganda Cranes midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga was the star of the evening for his side Austin FC II, in their 1-1 draw with LA Galaxy 2 earlier on Monday, at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
The former Vipers SC player played 90 minutes and netted on his full debut at the Texas based club, 21 minutes into the MLS NEXT PRO game.
While the side went on to lose 5-4 after penalties, Austin picked a point that helped them keep their table leadership in the Frontier Division of the MLS Next Pro.
They have accumulated 14 points in six matches, and are one point ahead of runners-up Colorado Rapids 2, who have played a game less.
Byaruhanga was featuring in his third match for the club, having come on as a second half substitute in the last two games against St Louis City 2 and North Texas.
Before his move to Austin, Byaruhanga had last played for Vipers last season, a side he helped clinch the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League trophy and the 2021 Uganda Cup.
As he left Kitende, he had initially been destined for Czech Republic outfit MFK Vyskov before he eventually got signed in the US.
