The Harambee Stars winger became increasingly influential for AFC Leopards last season, scoring six league goals whilst being capable of playing anywhere across the front three.
AFC Leopards have been dealt a huge boost as Harambee Stars winger Victor Omune has returned to the team after a long-injury lay off that has prevented him from taking part in any of the club’s first eight games of the season.
This is according to the club’s social media handles, who have given their injury updates as Leopards prepare to face Kariobangi Sharks at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The 30-year-old Omune, who joined the Den from KCB in 2022, was instrumental for Ingwe last season as he pushed the side to the semi-finals of the FKF Cup where they lost 1-0 against Kakamega Homeboyz and eventually ended the campaign without silverware.

FOOTBALL Why Michael Olunga should not be judged on goals alone despite Harambee Stars drought
Michael Olunga has faced criticism from a section of Kenyan fans over his lack of goals for Harambee Stars but he brings much more to the side
With seven days remaining before the new campaign gets underway, Omune confirmed he would be out of action for the next four months owing to a knee injury back in August.
“Unfortunately, I will miss the start of the season with a knee injury and I will be out for close to four months as the doctors have said,” Omune wrote on his Facebook page, adding: “But I believe I will be back better and stronger. Thanks a lot for the love.”
It remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to face Sharks, but Trucha will be pleased to have the winger return in order to give his attacking set up a different option to those who are fit and kicking.

FKFPL Crunch Gor Mahia versus Shabana clash to be beamed live on TV
Gor Mahia will face Shabana in a high stakes FKFPL clash at the Kasarani Stadium at 4 PM with the game set to be broadcasted live on Azam TV.
Cliff Nyakeya and Jaffari Owiti are explosive players who stretch the opposition at pace. Clifton Miheso likes to cut inside before whipping in early crosses with his left foot, while Omune is decent at taking men on in one v one situations.
Omune can also play upfront and in the number 10 position.
Omune has even won the captain’s armband on a couple of occasions since joining the club, underpinning his importance to the set up.
