The Crystal Palace is eligible to represent four countries, but he will not be playing for the Desert Foxes.

Michael Olise has handed Nigeria a boost after he turned down the chance to represent Algeria at the international level.

Olise’s international future is a subject of debate, with the 21-year-old eligible to play for four different countries.

Olise's still undecided

Olise was born in England but represents France at the youth level and he is also eligible to play for Algeria and Nigeria.

However, the Crystal Palace star has trimmed down his options after rejecting the chance to represent Algeria.

According to Algerian journalist Saïd Fellak, the Algerian Football Federation approached Olise, but the ex-Reading attacker rejected the chance, stating he is not interested in representing the North African giants.

Olise’s decision to reject Algeria is a big boost for the Super Eagles, who are also monitoring the star’s future.

Big boost for Nigeria

However, Nigeria are still behind in the race as Olise favour France over any other country. Olise has represented France at the U-18 and U-21 levels, with only a national team debut left for him.

But the 21-year-old faces a difficult battle in his quest to play for Les Bleus as France possess more than enough talents in the position he plays.

The Crystal Palace winger is also likely not to get a chance in the England squad if he opts for the Three Lions, leaving Nigeria as his only option.

However, it remains to be seen if Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will meet the youngster over a chance to represent the three-time African champions.
