Southampton suffers a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Bournemouth as they sink further in the relegation battle.
The Saints were hoping they could get a win against Bournemouth after playing a draw against the league leaders on Sunday at the Emirate Stadium.

Ederson and Manchester City were at their brutal best after blowing Arsenal away in the Premier League to throw open the title race.
Southampton started the game with much intensity as they had their first shot on target in the 3rd minute of the game. Theo Walcott was given enough space as he had his sight on goal. He shoots towards the bottom right corner, but the goalkeeper makes a superb save.
The game continued with Southampton piling the pressure on the away side but could not get the ball into the back of the net as the referee blew the half-time whistle.

Mikel Arteta has admitted that his side were no match to Manchester City as they lost grip in the English Premier League title race.
The second half started with more flow from Bournemouth which paid off in the 50th minute. Marcus Tavernier drills a low shot precisely into the bottom left corner with the goalkeeper having no chance.
Southampton tried to get back into the game but their effort did not pay off. However, during the closing minute of the game, Southampton got an equaliser but it was ruled out by VAR with Bournemouth getting the three points on the night.
