The desperate Gunners supporter sought to catch the attention of the Manchester City striker after watching his team slip up in the title race
An Arsenal fan has made a hilarious appeal to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to let his team win the Premier League title after watching the Gunners slip up again on Friday.
The Gunners fought from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Friday but it was not enough to see them take a seven-point lead over Manchester City and it leaves them in a precarious position with Pep Guardiola’s men having two games in hand.
Just minutes after the disappointing draw, Haaland wrote in Twitter: “MOOD. STILL,” to which an Arsenal fan @BallinKy_ responded with the desperate but hilarious appeal.
“Please bro, just let us win the league. I never got to witness my club win the league please man you can win it next year,” he replied.
The response left fans in stiches but it appears to be the feeling of a number of Arsenal fans who think the title is ‘gone’ even though City still have to play and win their two games in hand to take over the Premier League leadership.
A number of staunch Gunners fans in Kenya have also thrown in the towel with leading lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi and media personality Carol Radull among those who seem to have surrendered.
“Man City will win the Premier League with a healthy margin...6 to 9 points... Let us discuss this in May InshaAllah. Goodnight, poor souls,” Abdullahi, popularly known as the Grand Mullah, said on Twitter.
“It was a good feeling while it lasted. #NextSeason,” said Radull.
The Gunners, however, are still very much in the title race as they can turn the tide with a victory against Manchester City at the Etihad on Wednesday, even if they have not won there since January 2015.
Failure to do so would see Pep Guardiola’s men assume pole position since if they win their two games in hand, they will go ahead of Arsenal by one point, with six games remaining.
Haaland has led City’s title charge and is currently the league’s leading scorer having managed a joint record 32 goals so far this term.
