In an explosive rant on social media, former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has been called out by his ex-partner, Yana Voloshchenko for allegedly abandoning his children in Ukraine.
Former Super of Nigeria star Brown Ideye has recently been entangled in a scandal involving his family in Ukraine.
The 34-year-old Al Yarmouk striker is accused of abandoning his children in Ukraine during the war, according to his ex-partner, Yana Voloshchenko.
Voloshchenko says she has two children for Ideye, with the eldest born in 2014 when the former Nigeria international was still playing for Ukranina league giants Dynamo Kyiv.
Brown Ideye accused of neglecting his children during the Ukrainian war
According to Ideye’s ex-wife Yana, the Nigerian forward initially refused to acknowledge the paternity of their children.
But the striker later acknowledged paternity and then agreed to pay child support.
However, Ideye according to her via an interview with Dynamo, stopped paying child support in January 2022, and Yana’s lawyers have been unable to contact him since.
Yana says Ideye has shown no care about his children’s safety and has refused to fulfill his duties as a father.
She also admits that she knows Ideye is married with children, but says she only found out about the player’s family after she got pregnant for him, and has vowed she wants nothing to do with Ideye but that he makes good on the contract he signed by paying child support for their children.
The ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine and has further complicated matters, with Yana expressing serious concern about the safety of her children, while actively trying to leave the country.
But she is faced with a huge setback as Brown Ideye’s name is clearly written on the children’s passports, making it difficult for her to leave.
Ideye called out on social media by ex-wife Yana Voloshchenko
Following the latest revelation, Yana had since taken to social media to drag Ideye to filth, posting a series of photos of her children and their passports, as well as the Super Eagles star while boldly calling out the former Nigeria international on subsequent occasions on her Instagram page.
A post from her Instagram page last year reads: ‘Shame on BROWN IDEYE!!!! Your children are suffering from the war and you go shopping in Nigeria!!! Pay urgently alimony so that Joel and Michel can leave Ukraine normally!!! not war but your irresponsibility will kill your children!!! Nigeria’
While a subsequent post read: ‘Brown Ideye, how can you live knowing your children are in a country where there is a war in Ukraine? You’re Idle with millions of dollars!’
However, Yana has been consistent since last year, constantly dragging Ideye on social media.
Earlier in January she wrote on her page:’BROWN IDEYE, you owe support to your children JOEL and MICHELLE!!Stop violating children’s rights to anormal life!! God sees everything!’
In another subsequent post she also wrote: ‘BROWN IDEYE STOP lie and show a family that doesn't exist! people are not stupid! better pay child support to Joelle and Michel to Ukraine and follow the law! You can't fool God!’
On Saturday, March 4, she resumed calling out her ex-husband again and wrote: ‘BROWN IDEYE DON’T SHAME NIGERIA AND NIGERIAN MEN! OBSERVE THE CONTRACT YOU SIGNED , PAY ALIMENTY AND LIVE IN PEACE!DON’T DISCRIMINATE YOUR CHILDREN!’
This wouldn’t be the first time Ideye would be entangled in a paternity saga.
In 2017, a Swiss court ordered Ideye to pay a secretary at club Neuchatel Xamax, Francisca Errol $225,000 in child support for the son he allegedly fathered while he played there between 2007 and 2009.
Ideye is also yet to respond to the latest accusations levelled against him.
