South Sudan and Somalia represent the CECAFA region at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
While Uganda Cubs will be home watching the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off on Saturday in Algeria, five players from the FUFA Junior League will be representing South Sudan.
The five include BUL Junior Team duo Alex Otheno, Innocent Rwothomio Odong and Sabir Mayor Wonlok (Arua Hill JT).
The other two are Ismail Remo Sampuli Mansuk who plays for Rays of Grace) and KCCA’s Ngong Madut Garang.
South Sudan and Somalia are representing the CECAFA region after reaching the finals of the qualifiers beating Tanzania and Uganda in Ethiopia in October last year.
South Sudan is placed in Group C with Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Somali is in Group A alongside Senegal, Congo and Algeria; Group B has Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa and Zambia.
