StarTimes Uganda Premier League side BUL FC has announced the acquisition of striker Gerald Ogweti from Lugazi FC.
The talented forward has inked a three-year contract with BUL FC, becoming head coach Abbey Kikomeko's first signing since taking charge of the club just two days ago.
The 2021/22 season proved to be a breakthrough for Ogweti, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess and undeniable potential.
Therefore, his arrival at BUL FC comes as no surprise, given his impressive performances for Lugazi FC in the FUFA Big League.
During their maiden season in the second tier, he played a pivotal role in Lugazi FC's success, netting an impressive tally of 18 goals, which contributed to the team's fifth-place finish.
Moreover, in the previous season, Ogweti emerged as the top scorer in the Buganda regional league, finding the back of the net 16 times and helping his team secure promotion to the big league.
His journey in football began around 2012 at Friends Soccer Club before joining TY Lugazi Soccer Club in 2014.
In 2019, he donned the colours of Lugazi Municipal FC before making a move to Lugazi FC the following year.
Throughout his career, Ogweti has consistently demonstrated his physicality, agility, and an insatiable hunger for goals, attributes that are expected to greatly benefit his new club, BUL FC.
The signing of Gerald Ogweti represents a significant step for BUL FC as they aim to strengthen their attacking front after struggling for goals last season.
