UPDF FC is in a state of despair. The Bombo side has managed only two wins in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season.
And, had it not been for Busoga United’s fan violence that cost the Jinja side three points, the soldiers would be occupying one of the two red zones.

BUL on the prowl
The soldiers face BUL on Tuesday with a tough test against a high-flying BUL in Bombo. Their media told Pulse Sports that the team “has decided to go low key as regards publicity” when we sort pre-match comments.
BUL comes into the match fresh from a tough 1-0 victory over SC Villa in a Uganda Cup round of 16. They sit second on the log with 28 points, four behind leaders KCCA.
Their coach Alex Isabirye understands the position UPDF is in but says they’re prepared to battle.
“We know that they’re going to fight hard because they’re struggling but we need the points too,” Isabirye said ahead of the encounter.
The edible oil manufacturers have won seven and drawn only one of their last nine fixtures against UPDF however, they have won only two of their seven games on the road this season.
They won 3-1 in the reverse fixture in the first round.
BUL will miss three key players including defender Douglas Muganga who is suspended while Emmanuel Kalyowa, pascal Ngobi, George Kasonko and Reagan Kalyowa are injured.
