Bungoma Stars defeated FKF Premier League side FC Talanta to advance to the FKF Cup Round of 16.
Bungoma Stars caused another upset in the FKF Cup when they defeated FC Talanta FC 1-0 in a Round of 32 clash played at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The FKF Division Two Western side progressed to the Round of 32 having eliminated 2015 winners Bandari FC in the preliminary clash on January 28.

Going into the match, it was clear that Bungoma Stars coach Sylvestus Lichungu wanted more strength at the back as he went for a defensive back five. Talanta on the other hand, went for a more attacking formation and opted for a front three.
The hosts threatened first through Augustine Kuta who tested Bungoma goalkeeper Geoffrey Nyongesa.

Talanta tried to respond with a goal, but Bungoma stood firm at the back and the score was 1-0 to the visitors at halftime.
Talanta pushed for the equalizing goal after the restart, with Alex Kipruto looking to impress, having replaced Michael Jairo.
The forward tried his luck from range and his shot missed the target without troubling Geoffrey Nyongesa in the Bungoma goal.
