Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy will be performing in the finals of the 2023 UEFA Champions League final.
Burna Boy will be performing at the Champions League final in Istanbul alongside another amazing headliner following an official confirmation on Thursday, March 16.
Burna Boy who recently headlined at the NBA All-Star Halftime show will now take centre stage once more in sports, this time at the biggest club football event on the planet.
The confirmation was made via an official post on Thursday, March 16, in a clip that showed the Grammy-Award-winning singer and performer confirming that he will be performing some of his biggest hits at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on June 10, 2023.

In collaboration with global drinks brand and official partners of the UEFA Champions League, Pepsi, the Afrobeat giant is now set to thrill over 74,000 fans in the finals of European football’s greatest showpiece.
Burna will be the first Nigerian artist to ever perform in the Champions League final since its inception when he takes centre stage at the UEFA Champions League final kick off show by Pepsi.
The 2023 UEFA Champions League final will be the final match of the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League, the 68th season of Europe's premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 31st season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs' Cup to the UEFA Champions League.
Who is Burna Boy?
Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as 'Burna Boy', is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer and record producer.
He is famous for hits like, 'Soke', 'Like to Party', 'African Giant', 'On the Low', 'Ye', 'Last Last', 'Gbona', and 'For my hand' with UK music star Ed Sheeran, amongst a host of others.
The self-acclaimed 'African Giant' In 2019, has won a host of awards in his musical career including the Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, and was announced as Apple Music Up Next artist that year.
His 2019 album 'African Giant', won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards and was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, but eventually lost out to African music queen Angelique Kidjo.
The following year, Burna Boy released his fifth studio album, Twice as Tall, and it won Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. He also won Best International Act at the 2021 BET Awards.
Burna Boy's sixth studio album, 'Love Damini, was released in July 2022 and became the highest debut of an African album on the Billboard 200 chart.
In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked the controversial music star as number 197 on its list of the 200 greatest singers of all time.
'Last Last' is Burna's most prominent single of all time having racked in over 222 million streams on Spotify alone, and the music video also amassed over 174 million streams on YouTube.
Burna Boy's music has also featured in popular video game titles like Grand Theft Auto, EA sports FIFA, amongst a host of others.
When is the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League final?
The finals of the 2022-23 UEFA Champions League final will take place on Saturday night, June 10, 2023
The final was originally scheduled to be played at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
However, due to the postponement and relocation of the 2020 final because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, the scheduled hosts for subsequent finals were shifted back a year, and the Allianz Arena in Munich was assigned the 2023 final.
When the 2021 final, which had been scheduled to be played in Istanbul, also had to be relocated due to COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey, the 2023 final was given to Istanbul instead, with Munich now set to host the 2025 final.
Where is the finals of the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League final?
It will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
The Atatürk Olympic Stadium is a 74,753-capacity stadium located in Istanbul, Turkey. It is the largest-capacity stadium in the country.
The stadium was originally scheduled to stage its second Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich on 30 May 2020, but following the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe the match was postponed and later rescheduled to August at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal behind closed doors.
In 2021, the stadium was again set to host the final between Manchester City and Chelsea instead, but the match was once again moved to Portugal, this time at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto.
