Struggling Busoga United picked up an important away win against URA FC on Saturday in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.

The Jinja-based side came from behind to claim a 2-1 win. Kabon Living scored for the hosts, while Bashamu Mugwa’s brace, with a goal in either half, summed it up.

The Tax Collectors, who were marking a return to the Mehta Stadium after more than six years, took the lead through winger Kabon but the visitors had other plans before the break.

Mugwa levelled matters with five minutes to the break, ending the half all square.

After recess, Busoga United seemed relentless, launching several attacks, and they were rewarded when Mugwa doubled the lead at the hour mark, sealing his brace in the game.

Busoga United was able to see out the remainder of the game to pick up their seventh win of the season.

The win temporarily lifted the Jinja-based side out of the relegation zone, and they now move to 12th position on 18 points after 18 games played.

For Sam Timbe’s charges, it’s their first loss in the second round, having won three on the bounce. They remain eighth on 23 points after 18 games played.
