Despite his side's one-all stalemate with Maroons FC in the Uganda Premier League, KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso was left a satisfied man with his team's display.

On a different day, failure to win against a mid-table team at the MTN Omondi Stadium would spur criticism, but the tactician was happy with the way his team played, especially after conceding an early Fred Amaku goal.

"I am happy because they played good football especially in the second half. We didn't win but played well," Byekwaso said to the media in the post-match reaction.

The 46 year-old was in no shock of the result over a team that normally gives them a bloody noise.

For starters, Maroons hit them 1-0 in the first round, with Amaku the scorer on that occasion as well, at the Luzira Prisons grounds.

"Maroons is one of the teams that worry us. Them, along with Bright Stars and Mbarara City always give us headache. They don't create many chances but find one and punish us," moaned Byekwaso.

"During the preparations for this match, we alerted the players over their danger. We told them not to allow crosses but lost a bit of concentration and we were punished."

Byekwaso then justified his selection of defender Peter Magambo ahead of Mustafa Mujuzi, who has been a regularly impressive figure all season.

"In all the recent friendlies, Magambo has been playing better than Mujuzi, but football is like that, mistakes can be made by anyone."

Following the result, KCCA occupy second with 36 points, one adrift of leaders SC Villa, who have played two games more.

Byekwaso and his troops will have a chance to make quick amends when they visit strugglers Blacks Power FC on Tuesday.
