CAF has postponed the Champions League match involving Libya’s Ahly Benghazi and Asec Mimosa from Ivory Coast due to heavy floods that hit Libya earlier this week.
The devasting floods are reported to have killed over 10,000 people, including four footballers.
CAF had earlier announced that a moment of silence would be observed at all the interclub games but has now been forced to postpone the game and change the venue.

The match had initially been scheduled to be played on Sunday 18th September at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi but has now been pushed by a day and will be hosted in Tunisia at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse.
“Following the tragic floods in Libya, CAF has rescheduled the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League second preliminary round fixture between Ahly Benghazi of Libya and Cote d’Ivoire’s Asec Mimosas.

“The fixture will now be played on Monday, 18 September 2023, at 15h30 local time in Stade Olympique de Sousse,” CAF announced on Friday evening.
The move follows a request by AHly Benghazi.
