Ancelotti provides update on Eduardo Camavinga's future at Real Madrid
Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has said that young midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is untouchable, ensuring his long future at the club.
The 20-year-old joined Real Madrid from Rennes in the summer of 2021, and although his game time has been limited, and he has often been played out of position, he came second in the Golden Ball awards last year, a testament to his talent.
What Ancelotti said
Carlo Ancelotti was speaking at a press conference ahead of their Champions League second-leg clash against Liverpool, where he provided an update on Camavinga’s transfer status.
The Real Madrid boss declared Camavinga untransferable, saying he was untouchable and would continue to be for Real Madrid.
Carlo Admitted that the youngster was guilty of youthful exuberance in instances, saying he still had mistakes in his yet-to-be-refined game, but he believes the good outweighs the bad, and Camavinga's performances make his occasional mistakes forgettable.
“Camavinga is untouchable for us — also in the future, I’m sure he will stay that way,” Carlo said.
“He makes some mistakes but he plays such good games that everyone forgets about it — he’s untouchable.”
Camavinga’s season for Real Madrid
Camavinga has made 40 appearances for Real Madrid this season, but only 22 times has he played in his preferred central midfield position. He played as a defensive midfielder nine times and as a left-back seven times.
Camavinga is yet to score for Real Madrid this season, but he has grabbed an assist and has maintained a commendably high level of play.
