Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has renewed his contract with the Spanish giants, ending speculation over a move to Brazil
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has extended his contract at the club by a further two years.
The Italian coach, who was rumoured to be leaving the club for Brazil at the end of his current deal in June 2024, has confirmed his renewal for two more seasons, keeping him at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu until at least 2026.
Should he go on to see out the full length of the contract, Ancelotti will complete five consecutive seasons in his second spell at the club, which bring the total to seven, having managed Madrid for two seasons between 2013 and 2015.
Ancelotti was reported to have agreed to take over the Brazil national team in the summer but the latest development has poured water on the rumours.
The former Chelsea, PSG and AC Milan coach seems happy in the Spanish capital with his second spell having yielded a La Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey while they are currently top of the table after 18 matches.
Ancelotti has surpassed expectations with his team also winning all six group stage games in the Champions League this season. What’s more, the incredible form of Jude Bellingham, the star summer signing, has only helped to back Ancelotti further.
“I put in my efforts and a fierce commitment to excel at work, but the credit goes to Mr Ancelotti who found the right position for me and gave me more freedom on the field. So now I’m flying on the field,” Bellingham said after being crowned Golden Boy earlier this month.
