Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has slammed Antonio Conte over his post-match rant against Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte was furious with his players and the club after they allowed Southampton to fight a comeback and pick up a point from a 3-3 Premier League draw on Saturday.
Spurs had a 3-1 lead through goals from Pedro, Harry Kane - who has been linked with a move away - and Ivan Perisic - at the St. Mary’s Stadium and could have gone third on the table had they held onto the lead.
But goals by Che Adams and Theo Walcott, coupled with James Ward-Prowse's stoppage-time penalty, earned the Saints a vital point.
In his post-match reaction, Conte blamed the players for Spurs’ latest collapse.
"I'm not used to seeing this type of situation. I see a lot of selfish players, and I don't see a team," the former Inter Milan coach, whose contract with the London club ends in the summer and who is expected to leave, stated.
"We are 11 players that go onto the pitch. I see selfish players, I see players that don't want to help each other and don't put their hearts [in]."
"Because they are used to it here, they are used to it. They don't play for something important, yeah.
"They don't want to play under pressure, they don't want to play under stress. It is easy in this way. Tottenham's story is this.
The Premier League-winning manager with Chelsea did not even spare the club’s management in his incendiary reaction.
"Twenty years there is the owner, and they've never won anything, but why? The fault is only for the club or for every manager that stays here," he added.
"You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and protecting the other situation in every moment.
"Until now I try to hide the situation, but now, no, because, I repeat, I don't want to see what I have seen today [Saturday] because this is unacceptable and also unacceptable for the fans.
The setback against Southampton marked another downfall for Spurs after they were eliminated from the Champions League and the FA Cup this month.
