Ange Postecoglou responds to his rival manager, admitting that he has been lucky.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has responded and agreed to the comments by Rangers boss Michael Beale, who called him lucky.
Celtic are currently nine points above Rangers and have been more active in the transfer window. When asked about the manager of his Old Firm rivals, Beale claimed he has been lucky.
'Ange is a lucky man' - Beale
Rangers are unable to spend like their more financially stable counterparts, Celtic, as they are still on the downside of long-term financial limitations, The Scotsman reports.
Beale had that in mind when speaking about his Glasgow rivals.
“[Postecoglou] is a good coach, but he’s spent a lot of money,”- Beale said.
“They spend a lot more money than us, so Ange is a lucky man because he’s spent a lot of money.”
Postecoglou admits luck
Celtic currently lead rivals Rangers by nine points and have greater financial clout in the transfer market.
Celtic have already completed three transfers this window, while their rivals are still sizing up their options.
Ange Postecoglou, the 57-year-old Greek-Australian manager of Celtic, in response to Michael Beale's comments, admitted he has been very lucky, as he works for a well-run club side.
"I agree, mate, I'm an extremely lucky man,” - Postecoglou admitted.
"I work for a fantastic football club with fantastic people. I've got a beautiful family. I've been doing this for 25 years now, and long may it continue."
Postecoglou also stated that his team does not have any further additions planned and that he is satisfied with his current roster.
