Home-based Super Eagles at CHAN
The CHAN is only open to players who play in their home leagues and have permanent contracts.
The home-based Super Eagles did not qualify for the 2009, 2011, 2021, or 2023 editions.
The Super Eagles did, however, place on the podium in 2014 (in South Africa) and 2018 (in Morocco), winning bronze and silver, respectively.
As the countdown to the first leg, which is set for Sunday, December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium, coaches Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ikechukwu have been putting in extra time with the players.
Ghana has been the bogey team of the four previous occasions that stop the Super Eagles qualifying for the CHAN.
In addition to their fierce rivalry with Ghana on the field, the Super Eagles B see this month's qualifying match as a chance to win back the affection of Nigerian football supporters after missing two straight CHAN tournaments.
